Mattioli 1885 is a joint-stock company with a 120.000 Euros corporate capital.
It was founded at the end of the 19th century, starting out as a typographic industry for the thermal businesses run in Salsomaggiore and Tabiano (Parma - Italy). Therefore, Mattioli 1885 has always shown its vocation for health-related publishing. Over the last few years, the company’s organizational structure has been divided into three major branches: a strictly publishing division, a services and multimedia projects division, and a typographicdivision, as a sort of tribute to its origins.

Recently other initiatives have been taken in joint-venture with associated companies or with companies Mattioli 1885 has an interest in, as far as congress services and consulting are concerned.

We have been operating on the publishing trade for more than a century now, with a particular vocation for theworld of sciences, research and health. Since then, we have constantly tried to explore new communication avenues as well as new technologies, aiming at strengthening the relationship between health and welfare operators and patients, between researchers and readers, in order to provide our customers with an ever-growing mass of information.

Our Publishing House issues 25 periodicals, some of which historically connected with the brand “Mattioli 1885” and some of recent acquisition. Mattioli 1885 is involved with the information, formation and direct contact with mostItalian Physicians and Health Workers. Many of its magazines are the official organ of several professional associations and boards. Some of its journals are in English and they have a world-wide distribution. Mattioli 1885’s journals have an overall circulation of 500.000 copies a year.
